SCHIFF HARDIN AND SUTHERLAND ASBILL & BRENNAN GO BEYOND THE "GOLD STANDARD" FOR FEMALE REPRESENTATION IN FIRM LEADERSHIP AND COMPENSATION
The Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) released a survey showing which law firms have boosted the number of female attorneys among their equity partners and highly compensated workers, bringing women a little closer to workplace equality. To be eligible for the gold standard, firms must meet at least four of the following criteria: Women account for at least 20 percent of equity partners or a third of attorneys becoming equity partners during the last 12 months; 10 percent of firm chairs and office heads; 20 percent of the top governance committee; 20 percent of the compensation committee; a quarter of practice group heads; and 10 percent of the top half of the firm's most highly compensated partners.
Out of the forty-four firms that met the WILEF’s criteria for “gold standard” certification this year, eight firms met all six criteria, two of which are Schiff Hardin LLP and Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP.
