The Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Colorado has elected WTO partner Miko Brown president for the 2016-2017 term. Brown will serve as president-elect until her term commences in April of 2016. A member of APABA since 2001, Brown most recently served the organization as treasurer.

“Miko is deeply committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in the legal community and mentoring and sponsoring younger lawyers,” said Carolyn Fairless, WTO’s managing partner. “APABA is a wonderful platform for Asian Pacific American lawyers, and Miko is an exceptional pick to lead the board in the coming term.”

In addition to her practice defending catastrophic personal injury lawsuits and complex commercial disputes, Brown leads WTO’s women’s initiative, the Women in Leadership Lecture Series (WILLS), which has created a tight community of diverse leaders in law, industry, and government. In 2014, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association recognized WTO and WILLS with the George B. Vashon Innovator Award for “[leading] the way with innovative best practices to assist diverse attorneys in the legal profession.” Brown accepted the award on behalf of WTO at a reception in Washington, D.C., and was profiled in the September/October issue of Diversity & The Bar magazine.
