TRIAL.COM FOUNDATION DONATES TO AMERICAN RED CROSS FOR TYPHOON HAIYAN RELIEF
American Red Cross on Long Island Board Members Robert W. Seiden and Aidan M. McCormack, together with numerous other volunteers, including local community members Gail Seiden, Debbie Greco, Maya McCormack, Myrna T. Rossen and Dr. Robert M. Rossen, arranged and coordinated a concert for Typhoon Haiyan Relief. The event – entitled "Classic Night at The Landmark" – took place in Port Washington December 7, 2013. It featured a three-hour performance by amateur and professional classical musicians. Put together in just three weeks, the concert raised over $26,000 for the Red Cross Philippine relief effort.
Thanks to the generosity of supporters, including this team of individuals, the Red Cross will purchase and distribute emergency relief items for storm-affected Filipinos such as food, shelter supplies, hygiene kits and mosquito nets, and providing cash grants that help typhoon survivors address storm-related needs.
Mr. McCormack said, "It is an honor to help our fellow citizens of the world in the Philippines. We hope this gesture from their friends in the United States will give them renewed hope as they move forward from this tragedy."
On March 19, 2014, as pictured (left to right), checks totaling over $26,000 were presented by Aidan M. McCormack, concert pianist Benjamin T. Rossen, and Robert W. Seiden to John Miller, CEO American Red Cross on Long Island, at the Port Washington Yacht Club.
Miller said, "We're grateful to our two board members for raising much needed funds to help support the vital Red Cross Haiyan mission."
The Long Island Red Cross wishes to congratulate the concerts performers: Sydney Ronis, Jenna Cohen, Ethan Usoskin, Leah Stevens, Adam Tuch, Noah Milstein, Benjamin T. Rossen, Chie Yoshinaka, Elena Diaz-Acosta and Martin Soderberg.
The Red Cross also wishes to thank the many donors to the event, including the significant sponsors: DLA Piper LLP, The VCM Group, Independent Investors, Inc., The Peter and Jeri Dejana Family Foundation, Frank Crystal & Company, Trial.Com Foundation, Inc. and the Lullingstone Charitable Foundation.
